Manifesto
Why I started sauna community luzern and who it's for.
Hi there, I’m Luka.
I moved to Luzern from Slovenia recently, and meeting new people has been hard, almost impossible. Online I saw that many others, especially those who have just moved here, are going through the same thing, and it can get really depressing.
I believe humans are meant to connect, to talk, to cherish each other, to spend time together and to laugh.
On 22 October 2026 I went for an evening walk to wind down and passed a row of small saunas at the Lido. They were almost empty. It reminded me of the Sundays when two of my best friends from back home and I did sauna together, just to talk and spend time with each other. Those sessions helped me more than they will ever know. They healed me.
So I thought: why not do the same here? Why not create my own little sauna community where people can come together, meet new people, talk about their problems and the things that interest them, and simply spend time together?
That is how scl (sauna community luzern) was born.
This community is entirely free to join. I don’t collect any payments, and I make no money from it. All I want is for people to come together and have a great time.
The saunas aren’t mine. They belong to Popup Sauna GmbH, and we pay to use them. I wish I could cover it for everyone, but I can’t afford that. Each session costs around 10 to 15 francs per person, depending on how many people join.
Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way, let me explain what I imagine this community to be.
It’s open to everyone, regardless of sex, religion, ethnicity, social status or anything in between. We don’t discriminate against anybody, and if you do, I’m sorry, but you are not welcome here. There is also no pressure, from me or from anyone else. If you ever feel uncomfortable or the heat is too much, you can leave and nobody will say a thing. The decision is yours, based on what you like and how you feel.
I fully understand that sauna is a very private space, and people are often in a swimsuit or a towel, or even naked. I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable, so dress however you like, and respect others and their boundaries. This is also not a place to stalk people or hunt for romance, although I can’t say no if two people connect naturally. Explicit comments and anything like that will not be tolerated. It all comes down to respect.
To sum it up: please come and have fun. I’m doing this for the people, and for everyone.
